Question

I asked this question earlier and only parts A and B were answered. I just need the solution to part C, please show all work thank you!

a.) What molarity of ZnCl2 forms when 12.5g of zinc completely reacts with a 275mL solution of CuCl2? The balanced reaction is below, and assume there is no volume change.

Zn(s)+CuCl2 (aq) <---> ZnCl2 (aq)+Cu(s)ANSWERED EARLIER: 0.695M

b.) If the original concentration of CuCl2 was 0.893M, what is the concentration of Cu2+ after the reaction?

ANSWERED EARLIER: 0.195M

c.) If 14.5 mL of the resulting solution are diluted to 250.0mL, what is the Zn2+ concentration of the diluted solution?

Explanation / Answer

c) Initial concentration of [Zn2+] in solution = 0.695 M

Initial volume = 14.5 ml

Final volume = 250 ml

Thus,

[Zn2+] concentration in diluted solution = initial concentration x initial volume/final volume

                                                               = 0.695 M x 14.5 ml/250 ml

                                                               = 0.04031 M
