Question
Only need the answer Question #2 (The one with the * next to it) ---> I ONLY WANT A DETAILED EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THE BEAKERS NEED TO BE CLEAN AND DRY BEFORE MIXING MORE SOLUTION IN
1. Compare the analytical wavelength for the green food dye with those of the blue and (1) What is(are) the analytical wavelength(s) of the yellow dye the blue dye the green dye . (2) What would you expect the spectrum of a solution that was a mixture of yellow and blue food dyes to look like? (3) What would be the color of a solution made by mixing yellow and blue food dyes? 2. Briefly explain why it was important that the beakers in which you prepared the dye solutions for Part III of the experiment were clean and dry before you began.Explanation / Answer
The beakers on which the solutions are prepared for the food dyes for spectroscopic analysis must be cleaned to overcome residue of food dyes at he endpoint of analysis. There are lots of Residue carryover whihc may interfere the endpoint of spectroscopy.
These all prepared solutions must be drained safely to cause final value of wavelegth. Empty beakers rinse them with distilled water. Put them in a way to drain their all sides.
- DO NOT leave them in an inverted position! It is not necessary that they be dry.
- Clean your remaining glassware and return it to your station. If there is any yellow color left in the glassware, it is NOT CLEAN!
Please take strict precaustions to any container that held the beverage; sugary residue becomes sticky, messy, and can be a health hazard.
