4) Most gravimetric analyses give the product in less than 100% yield. This is due to the fact that a gravimetric analysis involves a number of precipitation and dissolution steps. An inherent disadvantage of the method is that small amounts of the precipitates are lost at each step of the reaction. The loss sums up at the end of the reaction and hence, the percent yield is always less than 100%.

6) Cu doesn’t react with HCl. This is due to the fact that Cu has a standard reduction potential lower than that of H+/H2. Therefore, Cu cannot displace H2 from HCl and hence, Cu doesn’t dissolve in HCl.
