Question
Compute the electric field at a point 4.5 cm from q2 along a line running toward q3 in the figure (Figure 1) .
"I solved it, but the process was SO long. The way I did it, I computed q1,q2, q3, q4 individually and then did the tangent of each individually, BLAH BLAH. After a while it got confusing, and was just time comsuming. I need to know a "Shortcut" way to solve this for my test. I just wanted to see how you would solve this problem."

At the given point,
calculate E1,E2,E3 and E4.
and also calculate angles made by all these elctric field vectors with +x axis.
then take x and y componets of all these electric field vectors.
then add all the components.
Enetx = E1x + E2x + E3x + E4x
ass all the y-components
Enety = E1y + E2y + E3y + E4y
There is no shortcut method to solve this kind of problems.
