A formula calls for 0.6 milliliter of a coloring solution. calibrated from 2 to 10 milliliters in 1-milliliter units, how could you obtain the desired quantity of the coloring solution by the aliquot method? Use water as the diluent. 5. Using a 10-milliliter graduate Measure 3 mL Dilute to 10 mL Measure 2 mL 6. Using a 10-mliliter graduate calibrated in 1-milliliter units, explain how you would measure 1.25 milliliters of a dye solution by the aliquot method. Use water as the diluent. Measure 5 mL Dilute to 8 ml Measure 2 mL 7. The formula for 100 milliliters of pentobarbital sodium elixir calls for 0.75 milliliter of orange oil. Using alcohol as a diluents and a 10-milliliter graduate calibrated in 1- milliliter units, how could you obtain the desired quantity of orange oil? Measure Dilute to Measure 3 mL orange oil 8 mL 2 mL
Explanation / Answer
5.
Given that we want to measure 0.6 ml of coluring solution
Given that the graduate calibrated is used to measure 2ml to 10ml
with 1ml as unit measure
So, let us add water of 2.4 ml for ever 0.6 ml of coluring solution
=>we add 4ml of water for every ml of coluring solution
Now measure 3ml from the mixed solution which is formed after adding water
Out 3ml of this solution 0.6 ml will be of coluring solution ,
Hence , we are able to measure 0.6 ml of coluring solution using above method
