Explanation / Answer

1. Jane can be helped by giving counseling about chemotherapy and its side effects like alopecia, nausea and vomiting. The treatment occurs in such a way that the side effects are much lower. Since, her breast tissue has been removed, it is very important to undergo chemotherapy to restrict the spread of carcinoma to any other parts. Moreover, the treatment is much important to increase her longevity. After successful chemotherapy she may again be able to grow her hair.

2. Nausea and vomiting are mild to severe side effects of chemotherapy. Since, the chemotherapeutic drugs are so powerful and restrict the spread of carcinoma; Jane should be encouraged to bear with the symptoms. In severe case of side effects, drugs are also given to reduce them and hence, Jane should be requested to cooperate with the treatment.

3. While undergoing chemotherapy, Jane requested have proper diet. Since, the dietary requirements are fulfilled, and then only the chemotherapy can be effective. Since, the chemotherapy weakens her metabolism, she can gain strength only through the dietary needs and hence, nutritionist should give counseling and explain the outcome to Jane to take proper diet.

4. Jane should be taught to avoid contact with infectious people. This is because; already she herself undergoing chemotherapy and her immune system is so weak. If she contacts any infectious people, she may contract the infection which could be more problematic and may spoil her health even more. Hence, she should be explained with these facts clearly and requested to obey the Doctors' instructions strictly.
