Question

Conditional Formating

So I am adding Conditional Formatting to quite a few cells on are BOL so that are shipping team won't forget to fill in any necessary data.

I am having the cells highlighted red if conditions are not met.

I have so far been successful with everything except one.

I have a piece count cell and I'm referencing that number, multiplying it by 9 and comparing that number to the character count in the Workorder#'s cell(these are manually entered. The workorder#'s are 6 characters long and I'm adding 2 characters for the comma and space between the W/O#'s.

I got this working the way I want it with one exception.

When the piece count is 1 only 7 characters will be entered.

I'm trying to add a second conditional format, after the first, to reverse the first when conditions are met.

So lets say if B1 is equal to 1, return or multiple 7 and then compare to LEN in k1, highlight white.

This is the first condition =(((B21*9)-2)<>LEN(K21)) highlight red if not met.

Explanation / Answer

Hi,

For what I understand....

One rule should be =AND( $B1>1, ($B1*9)<>LEN($K1) )

The other should be =AND( $B1=1, ($B1*6)<>LEN($K1) )

If this doesn't work as you expect would you mind uploading your spreadsheet to OneDrive and provide the link in your next reply - with some extra explanations please?? Thanks!

Hope this helps
