Application security applies throughout the life cycle of all software products. Therefore, you should approach the creation of an application security process from that perspective.

The ISO/IEC 12207 Standard (which is known in the U.S. as IEEE 12207.0) is the internationally accepted model for software life cycle process definition. In that respect, it dictates the standard practices of the software development and maintenance process and provides a way to understand how each of those life cycle practices fit together.

For this Discussion, you will read a model business case and evaluate that case based on the IEEE 12207 standard.

Begin by reading the model case (located in the Unit 1 Discussion item) about a fictional software development company, Advanced Agility Group (AAG). Then, research the components of the IEEE 12207 standard using your readings, the Internet, or resources in the Walden Library.

With the information from your research and the model case in mind, identify the primary and supporting life cycle processes that AAG has adopted. Be sure to think about how the supporting process activities relate to the primary processes they are meant to support.

When the AAG protocol was first introduced, braid groups were proposed as platform group. However, there are studies that successful attack AAG with braid groups, one main attack method is the length-based attack. Searching for a new platform for AAG, Garber, Kahrobaei, and Lam studied polycyclic groups generated by number field and concluded that they are resistant against the length-based attack. Inspired by this result, we ask whether other type of polycyclic groups can be used as platform for AAG. In this paper, we discuss the use of Heisenberg groups, a type of polycyclic group, as a platform group for AAG by submitting them to one of AAG's major attacks, the length-based attack.

The contractor shall provide Systems Engineering support to the AAG Program as it relates to SOW paragraph 5.1
in Delivery Order N00178-04-D-4143-4Y02. This support shall include requirements and risk management,
technical products management, and technical guidance in accordance with DoD Systems Engineering policies.
The Systems Engineering support shall include the tracking and management of contract deliverables from the prime
contractor for the Advanced Arresting Gear System. This shall include reviewing the materials and determining if
they meet the requirements specified in the AAG acquisition documents including the System Specification,
Statement of Work, and Contract Deliverable Items List and coordination of the AAG Technical Team inputs for
incorporation to AAG documents. Drawing reviews as needs is required. The support shall also include the
coordination of deviations and waivers when the technical team determines it is warranted. Coordination of the AAG

The contractor shall provide support to identify requirements for AAG Systems Engineering Technical Reviews, as
well as help to produce materials required to support the reviews, such as, presentation materials and the SETR
checklist.
