Question

Can't delete checkbox from my worksheet

Hi

I pasted in some information from a website into an Excel worksheet, and a clickable check box came with it. Now I can't get rid of the checkbox. It is still clickable for some bizarre reason, but the object has no "handles" to grab and delete, and it doesn't appear to be attached to the row or the other data, because I can cut and paste the data to a new row and the checkbox remains in the old row. Also, when I insert or delete new rows, the checkbox doesn't move.

Anyone have an idea how I can make this object "grabbable" so I can delete the stupid thing?

Thanks!

Explanation / Answer

Hi..

Activate the Developer tab of the ribbon. (If you don't see it, you can tick its check box in File > Options > Customize Ribbon to make it visible).

Click the Design Mode button in the Controls group. It should become highlighted.

See if you can now select and delete the check box.

Click Design Mode again to unhighlight it.
