Question
I am a student who has entered a game programming competition called FBLA at school, and I sent them an email because I had a few questions about how the competition is ran.
The main question I had, since I'm a Java programmer was in short: "Does the program need to be an executable, and if a java update/install is needed to run my program, will they install it?"
Their response was (quote): "The file does need to be a .exe and the entire program needs to be able to run independently on the judges
Explanation / Answer
Yup got your questoin.but for whom side i have to talk. Your intention was absolutely correct for any executable code must require either install or update. This is valid when we are developing applications exce[t in competitions. Why because consider hundred people participated in competiton, if every one developed .exe or java bytecode which also executable..then installing supporting softwares or taking updates for everyone will increase a cost. so they never interested to install or do something. and also java environments take a large amount of spaces. So in programming competition code you given must be standard which can directly run. For any language whether c or c++ or c# or any other language..when we participate in coding battle we must ensure our application takes less amount of space and have to meet their requirements.
