Question

Below is a procedure of an experiment. What would be the variables (independent and dependent), control, and constant?

The first experiment was a process to determine whether the seeds grew better in acidic or regular soil. Two planting containers (A and B) each with four sections were acquired. In plant container A, the four sections were filled ¾ with regular soil. This soil was lightly packed down and then three to four radish seeds were placed on top of the packed soil. The remaining space in each section was topped off with the same soil type. Each section was then watered and placed under light. In plant container B, the same above procedure was done except for the following change, regular soil was replaced with acidic soil.

Explanation / Answer

It seems there is no control because you are only comparing which one grows better. Although if you were testing the effect of acidic soil then the regular soil would be the control... Independent variable is the soil dependant variables are light/water
