Introduction to Databses: Microsoft SQL Server

Note: If you really know this stuff then please do this otherwise do not post wrong answer as I've gotten one of the wrong answers here.

Scenario 5-2: Using Full and Incremental Backups

You have six large databases, each being at least 2 GB. You need to make sure that you backup the databases each night in case you have a disaster and must recover them from backup.Because each database takes two hours to back up and you only have a six-hour window inwhich to do backups each day, what would you recommend as a backup solution?

Scenario 5-4: Restoring a Backup (Complete Restore)

When you were doing some database maintenance, one of your tables got corrupted.Thankfully, you were smart enough to backup the database. Using SSMS, what steps wouldyou take to restore the database that you backed up in the last exercise?

Explanation / Answer

Scenario 5-2: Using Full and Incremental Backups

Solution:

I choose Incremental Backup as a solution for the given scenario 5-2. So the backup software can create copies of all the files or parts of the files that have modified or changed since previous incremental backup in faster manner ( with in the six hour clock)

Reason:

Scenario 5-2 mentions backup is to be done each day and the database sizes are large as well as they need 2 hours each on every backup.

Next Step:

Select the backup type Settings->Options->Backup tab and proceed

Scenario 5-4: Restoring a Backup (Complete Restore)

Steps should take to restore the backed up database Using (SSMS) SQL Server Management Studio:

Here you should give the backup file names (which we have created already) one by one i.e Day1 to day7 with recovery options.
