Question

What is the total pressure, in atm, of a2.00 Litre vessel containing 2.0 greams of Hydrogen and 1.0 gram ofHelium at 25 Celcius. I basically just used the PV=nRT formula. This is how i set itup: (P)(2.00)=n(.082057)(25+273.15). I want to find "n" (moles) in order to find thepressure.... but i don't know where to go from there. I would verymuch appreciate any help. Please and Thankyou. -Sandy What is the total pressure, in atm, of a2.00 Litre vessel containing 2.0 greams of Hydrogen and 1.0 gram ofHelium at 25 Celcius. I basically just used the PV=nRT formula. Explanation / Answer

                      Number of moles of hydrogen = 2.0 g / 2.016g/mol                                                           = 0.992 mol            Number of moles of helium = 1.0 g / 4.003g/mol                                                       = 0.2498 mol           totalnumber of moles = n = 1.2418 mol            P * 2.0 L   = 1.2418 mol * 0.0821 L.atm/mol.K *298 K             P = 15.19 atm
