Question
5-14. The Crown Zellerbach No. 1 was the discovery well in the Hooker (Rodessa) Field. The reported production during the first year of production is given below. How would you classify this reservoir fluid? Why? Typically there are mainly 5 types of reservoir fluid black oil, volatile oil, condensate (retrograde gas),wet gas & dry gas.Primary method for determining & quantifying fluid type is laboratory analysis but stock tank gravity & initial oil production are other useful indicators.
classification: Retrograde condensate gas
reason:
as the stock tank gravities are between 40o to 60o API
& lower limit for retrograde condensate gas for production of initial gas oil ratio is 3300 scf/STB & upper limit is not well defined value over 150000scf/STB.
its far away from black oil & volatile voil
decision need to made between retrograde or wet gas ,but from production trend we can see that it can be classified as retrograde condensate gas.
