Explanation / Answer

2. A coral reef community is similar to a deep sea vent community in that they are both marine in nature. They both also generally have organisms living under the same temperatures and salinity. The differences between them however are that coral reef communities are generally more diverse whereas deep sea vent communities are more straightforward in structure. Deep sea vent communities also tend to be exposed to more darkness as compared to the coral reef areas so therefore these creatures are indeed different adapted to their environment. Deep sea vents organisms also thrive under different oceanic pressures relative to those of coral reef communities, and generally have different skin color or patterns which generally tend to be more white to due to the lack of sunlight entering the area of these vents.

3. Organisms that live in the intertidal zone are able to tolerate lots of sunlight. This means that creatures which may have a problem sitting in the sun too ling would tend to overheat due to the excess amount of sunlight. They are also able to resist the waves which are constantly pushing everything out to sea. Another adaptation they have is the tolerance of varying salinity which is the consequent of rising and falling tides. They are also able to be well defended when the tide goes down.

4. There is a relationship between the number of individuals in a species to the number of different species in a certain locale. This is because the food chain must always be proportional in nature. You cannot have to many members of one species thriving otherwise you would risk destroying the members of another species by taking all of the resources from them. It is basically a pyramid structure with the predators on top and the plants on the bottom. These proportions must be kept in an equilibrium if a fauna wishes to succeed. So the main relationship would be the proportions due to the amount of available resources such as prey and sunlight.
