Question
Will there be any precipitate in the following situations? If so, then what compound will be the precipitate? Justify your answers. A) 23 micrograms of strontium chloride, SrCl2 is dissolved in 1.50L of 0.0088M ammonium fluoride, NH4F solution. B) The pH of the 0.025M iron(III) nitrate, Fe(NO3)3 solution is adjusted to 1.93. Hint: Find the hydroxide ion concentration of the soltuion.Explanation / Answer
The reaction that is taking place is SrCl2(aq) + 2NH4F(aq) ---> SrF2(s) + 2NH4Cl(aq) You will need to look at a solubility table to see if the molecules are soluble or not. So yes there will be a precipitate for the above situation. Sorry I don't understand what you're asking for part B.
