How does an electron travel in a solid conductor with an internal electric field? an electron travels parallel and in the same direction of the electric field. An electron travels parallel and in the opposite direction of the electric field. An electron travels in random motions colliding with positive ions with the net displacement in the opposite direction of the electric field An electron travels in random motions colliding with positive ions but the net displacement is in the same direction as the electric field. An electron does not move in a conductor, only the positive ions move when an electric field is applied. a. b. c. d. e. 4

Explanation / Answer

13.

Remember:
For series combination
Req = R1 + R2 + R3 +...............
for parallel combination
1/Req = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 + ............
for 2 resistors in parallel it will be
Req = R1*R2/(R1+R2)
Using this Information:

in right side 3 and 3 ohm are in parallel, So for this side

Rp1 = 3*3/(3 + 3) = 3/2 ohm

In Left side 2 and 4 ohm are in series, So

Rs = 2 + 4 = 6 ohm

in upper side 1, 7 and 5 ohm are in parallel, So

1/Rp2 = 1/1 + 1/7 + 1/5

Rp2 = (7*5)/(35 + 5 + 7) = 35/47 ohm

Now Rs, Rp1 and Rp2 are in series, So

Req = Rs + Rp1 + Rp2

Req = 6 + 3/2 + 35/47

Req = (6*94 + 3*47 + 35*2)/94

Req = 775/94 ohm

Correct option is A.
