Question
I'm doing a chi squared analysis of the following data:
0
I cannot figure out how to calculate the expected value. The known locations are sn:22, m:36, wcf:1.5
I calculated the recombination frequencies and got the following:
The RF between sn and wcf is 15.5% and the RF between m and sn is 15.64%
I think I calculated the double crossover predicted frequency correct but I'm not sure: 2.42%
Thanks!! Please let me know if I left out any important info you need.
Class Phenotypes Observed Expected 1 wcf 882 0 2 sn/m 644 0 3 wcf/m 183 0 4 sn 144 0 5 wcf/sn/m 128 0 6 wild-type 196 0 7 wcf/sn 10 0 8 m 6 0 Totals: 21930
Explanation / Answer
Expected value can be calculated by = Sum of Observed / total number of class
=2193/8 = 274.125
274.125 is the expected value
There is more difference in values of observed and expected value
