Mr. Jones is a 75 year-old, African-American widower who is 5’9” tall and weighs 128 pounds. He lives alone in an apartment building in a large metropolitan city. Mr. Jones had been mostly dependent on his wife for shopping and fixing meals and has lost 15 pounds since her passing 5 months ago. He has no family, few friends, and his only income is social security ($500/month). He does not drive and does not like to take the bus. Mr. Jones wears dentures, frequently takes laxatives to relieve constipation, as well as aspirin (on a daily basis) as a preventative medication for heart disease. He is also taking medication for high blood pressure.
Explanation / Answer
Folic acid is also a type of vitamin B. When body does not have required amount of folic acid or B vitamins it can cause a condition of Folic Acid anaemia.People who eat unhealthy foods, are elderly have stress and illness are most prone to the deficiency. The main reason for the deficiency is either not having proper diet or not able to absorb the vitamin/folic acid.
But there are remedies and cure to recover from the deficiency. Adequate intake of proper vitamins or folic acid tablets (folate) everyday consulting a doctor can help.A good balanced diet is another important way to cure and it should contain eggs, milk, chicken, other types of lean meat, mushrooms, salmon, tuna, cod liver oil etc.
One of the best source and remedy is natural sunshine. Regular exposure to natural sunlight increases the levels significantly and cholestrol production is also stimulated.
These suggestions hopefully can help Mr. Jones get cured.
