Question

I could please use some help with A, C, E, and G of this problem, also answering on each whether it is "spontaneous under standard conditions".  Thank you!

Problem 19.61
Using data from Appendix C in the textbook, calculate ?G? for the following reactions. Indicate whether each reaction is spontaneous under standard conditions.

Part A 2SO_2(g) + O_2(g) -->2SO_3(g)

Express your answer using four significant figures.

Part C

NO_2(g) + N_2O(g)-->3NO(g)
Express your answer using five significant figures.

Part E

6Cl_2(g) +  2Fe_2O_3(s)-->4FeCl_3(s) + 3O_2(g)

Part G

SO_2(g) + 2H_2(g)-->S(s) + 2H_2O(g)
Express your answer using four significant figures.

Explanation / Answer

you see because i dont have the appendix C of your textbook

i cannot answer you exactly

but i can give you regARDIng what you need to do

take a look carefully

you have delta G for each reaction

by using the formula

delta G= delta H- T delta s

where h is enthalpy change

T is temp

and S is entropy

or you can subtract delta G formation of reactants from delta G formation of products

if you get delta G as negative then you reaction will be spontaneous

otherise it will be non spontaneous
