Question
How do i find the Kf of the complex, I have the graph and the extrapotaited lines intesect at x= 0.510997871 mol fraction of IDA and y= 0.402825388 abs of IDA and copper complex. the real maximum of the curve is x= 0.5200, y=0.38065. the average molar aborpivity is 16.18878870 or both best fit lines are y= 0.757x+0.016 and y=-0.7933x+0.8082. I am having touble finding the concentration of equilance of Cu2+ and the IDA 2- the stoichiometery is n=1 or Cu2+ + Y2-= CuY or 1:1. I dont know what to ultiize and what number to plug for my Kf equation
Explanation / Answer
1. Find the actual initial molar concentrations of each ion based on amounts mixed:
For Ag: 0.0258 x 0.22 = 0.0057 M
For S2O3: 0.0258 x 0.80 = 0.0206 M
2. Ksp does not factor into this calculation since all nitrates are soluble and nitrate appears on both sides of the equation as a spectator ion.
3. The reaction for Kf
Kf = 4.7 x 10^13 = [Ag(S2O3)2]/([ Ag+ ][ S2O32]^2)
4. Set up the ice table to look like:
Ag + 2S2O3
