Question
What modern connections do you see between the actions and arguments of the Filipinos and modern colonized peoples? What similarity in tactics do you see being used by the US then and now? (Feel free to compare the Philippine-American War to Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, or Afghanistan - whichever conflict you have more knowledge of or interest in.) What was the overall effect on the Philippines? Was American "rule" (it did not receive its full independence until 1946) an overall benefit or harm to the Philippines as a people ... and a nation?
