ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSEMENT AND MANAGEMENT

Ultimate impact the environment has had on the economy.

Nature has gifted has healthy and beautiful environment for us lead best life on Earth. But due to increase in population, demand for natural products humans are destroying nature there by environment. The destruction of environment show impact on ecosystem and on our life.

Industrialisation has created maximum production of goods required by man in his day to day life. Other side it is disturbing ecological system and environment. Particularly the ground water in industrial area not drinkable/useable for any purpose. Even air in the industrial area is highly polluted.

The demand for products may increase the economy of Industry. Imroving the economy is a short term goak. But raw material required for it needs to be supplied from natural environment. The demand has increase so much so that we destroying nature and natural environment indiscriminately.

Do short-term drawbacks justify long-term goals?

No, the short term drawback is not justifying long term goals. We started producing thermal electricity power from coal mined. It is a short term goal. The non-renewable coal fuel may last for another 50 to 100 years. Then we have to depend again on natural things. Here we are disturbing natural environment for short term goal. CO2 production and greenhouse effect is maximum from coal and its power plants. But we are producing coal based power for our use at the cost of destroying our lives and our future generation life.

If there is a conflict, which should come first-the economy or the environment?

There is a conflict between economy and environment known to all. The developments doing for economic developments are short term goals. Environment is much more important than this short term goal economy. But we are knowingly neglecting it and giving more preference to economy there by destroying our lives and future generation lives. So if there is a conflict the environment should come first.

For example, with the increasing cost of oil should we tap into the oil supply at the Artic National Wildlife Refuge in Northeast Alaska?

No, we should not tap the oil from Artic National Wildlife Refuge in Northeast Alaska. As this oil not going to sustainable. May be after 100 years we will face same shortage. Than what is the use of this oil. It may fulfil our short term goal. So we should look for permanent solution like using solar or wind energy which are renewable and environmental friendly.

The Pros and Cons of Economy and Environment:

We need improvement economy to lead a better life. To lead a better life we need electric power, roads, buildings, air-condition, industries etc. For this purpose we need coal, oil, raw materials to manufacture metals etc. So to lead a better life we are destroying nature and there by creating environmental imbalances. We need a better life is a short term goal. To protect environment is a long term goal. We should only concentrate only on long term goal. We should now adopt ourselves to lead a natural life. Nature has created nature for us before our birth. So we should depend on it without destroying it.

Because of economy we are industrialised our life and destroying nature. Present day Global warming, sea level rising, air, water and food product pollution created by us may consume future generation lives.

America has banned coal mining and coal based power plants because of its highest pollution of environment and release of CO2 into nature. Similarly we have to sacrifices use of oil, industrial products some or the other day to save our lives.

So saving the nature and the natural environment is more important than fulfilling our short term goal of luxuries lives. Everybody should struggle for it.
