Question
Even the most innocuous substances can become hazardous under the right circumstances. Multi-vitamins are commonly used to supply us with extra nutrients that we might not get in our diets. When these pills are designed, the manufacturer has to be careful with the amounts of each vitamin and how the human body processes and stores them. Based on your solubility results and how humans excrete waste, which of the compounds is most likely to be the easiest to purge excess? Which is most likely to be difficult to purge? Explain your reasoning.
Explanation / Answer
The compounds such as vitamin A,D,E AND K are the ones which can be stored in cells as they are fat soluble.Only the substance like vitamin C,B,etc which are water soluble and can easily be excreted out regulated by the system as wastes and cannot be accumulated in our body to a toxic proportion are easiest to purge excess.Difficult ones are as mentioned above Vitamin A,D,E AND K.They can even cause hypervitaminosis if stored in body in excess.
