a.Glycosylation is a reaction in which a carbohydrate in attached to a hydroxyl or othe functional group of another molecule. In ER, the glycosylation occurs on Asparagine or Arginine residues. These modifications occur in the cytoplasm and nucleus.

d. Using column and matrix protein can be purified according to their molecular weight and size. The matrix gives a solid support for the proteins to attach to them, where column giveas support for the matrix. The pores between the matrix helps to seggregrate the proteins according to their sizes, where settles at different levels so that they can be eluted at different times. Purification is a proces where a mixture is seperated to simpler mmolecules, or to obtain a particular type of molecules/proteins from mixture or from human samples.

e. Since Lysine residues contribute positive charge to protein thus ion exchange chromatography can be used for the purification process. Cation exchange can be used for this purification, where negatively charged beads which attract positive charged proteins. Elution of target proteins is done by changing pH in the column, which results in a change of the charged functional groups of each proteins.
