Question
The pH of buffer solutions.
Weight of NaC2H3O2*3H2O =3.486g
pH of original buffer soution = 4.89
pH of buffer + HCl = 4.29
pH of buffer + NaOH = 5.22
Additional details: approximately 8.8 mL of 3M acetic acitd was added to the 3.486g of NaC2H3O2*3H2O. And approximately 55.6mL of distilled water. (This makes the buffer solution) This solution was then split in half. To one half 1 mL of 6M HCl was added. To the second half 1mL of 6M Na OH was added.
Calculate the pH of buffer.
Calculate the pH of buffer + HCl
