Your answer will be option "d" i.e all of the above are the benefits of Animal Assisted Therapy(AAT)
AAT was first documented in the year 1792,but it is believed that it began along with the begining of mankind as for eg :caveman and the wolves. As the civilization grew men started living in communities which directly or indirectly developed companionship among community memebers, developed independency and being social helped to fight anxiety, reduce stress through sharing.Across the transition from hunters to urbananized technical modern world, men have started losing all these societal relations and companions while the psychological stress ,anxiety, lonliness, agitation was geometrically progressive.Mental health was the point of concern.
Many researches and epidemiological studies are done studying the effects of AAT on human health since 2003 to present and they conclude its effect on human health as follows:
1.On pshycologically ill person AAT helps to buffer and distracts them from anxiety developing stimuli amd helps in calming,it is seen that AAT is twice more effective than any other traditional therapies.
2.On children it is reported that regular pet contact have increased level of built self esteem as animals show unconditional positive regard and are nonjudgemental, they learn to trust and build social relationship as they seek social support from their pets by talking to them or reduce stress by playing with them i.e companionship.Studies shows decreased behavioural problems in children who own pets than those who don't.
3.On adolescent it is reported that AAT have served as a catalyst for learning, relaxing, positive relationships building among mentally ill adult and have shown reduced anxiety, improved attendance, learning and behaviour.
