Explanation / Answer

1. 2AgNO3(aq) + CuSO4(aq) ? Ag2SO4(s) + Cu(NO3)2(aq)

2.   AgNO3 (aq) + NaOH (aq) >> AgOH (s) + NaNO3 (aq)

Ag+ + NO3- + Na+ + OH- >> AgOH + Na+ + NO3-

Ag+ + OH- >> AgOH (s)

3. I(NH4)+AgNO3---> AgI + NH4NO3

AgI precipitates

4. 2 AgNO3 + BaCl2 = Ba(NO3)2 + 2 AgCl (s)

5. CuSO4 (aq) + 2 NaOH (aq) >> Cu(OH)2 (s) + Na2SO4 (aq)

Cu2+ + SO42- + 2 Na+ + 2 OH- >> Cu(OH)2 + 2 Na+ + SO42-

Cu2+ + 2OH- >> Cu(OH)2 (s)

6. The iodide ion reduces the aqueous Cu^2+ ions to Cu^+ which is stabilised by forming the very insoluble, off-white CuI as a precipitate.
Half equations: 2I^- ---> I2 + 2e and Cu^2+ + e ---> Cu^+
and (with excess iodide ions present): Cu^+(aq) + I^-(aq) ---> CuI(s)

7.   BaCl2(aq) + CuSO4(aq) => BaSO4(s) + CuCl2 (aq) . it is a double replacement reaction

8.   NH4I(aq) + NaOH(aq) ? NaI(aq) + NH3(g) + H2O(l)

9.   2NaOH + BaCl2 ---> 2NaCl + Ba(OH)2

Barium hydroxide is insoluble in water.

10. No reaction.
