Dr. Stewart hired a new associate, Dr. Reynolds, about six months ago. Dr. Reynolds has been trying without success to use PrimeSUITE efficiently. Though he likes the template method of documenting, he has found that much of what he prefers to document is not part of the existing templates, and he has to type by free-hand a lot of that data. He feels he is not paying as much attention to his patients as he should be during the visit because he is typing, and he is also concerned that his E& M code levels are lower than they should be. He comes to you, the office manager, to vent his frustrations. Answer the following questions:

1. What, if anything, can be done to make his use of Prime- SUITE more effective and efficient?

2. Would any of this have an impact on Dr. Reynolds’s E& M code levels?

Explanation / Answer

----> There there can be made a customised template with the type of questions that he would ask to his patients. Also, the program can be made such that, on entering certain symptoms, probable diagnostic list appears. This would save for a high amount of time and much lesser typing work.

----> This might let him have a higher score on the E and M code levels and a better revenue and more efficacy.
