Explanation / Answer
4) In the movie evolution, Ira and Allison used the term,"mitosis" to describe the asexual reproduction of the alien flatworms. Mitosis is a kind of cell division which occur in somatic cells. Mitosis occur in four stages: prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase. Mitosis divided the cell into two diploid cells containing the same number of chromosomes. The term mitosis is not the accurate definition for asexual reproduction. Asexual reproduction is the process of producing organism from a single parent. In asexual reproduction, the entire organism as such is reproduced whereas in mitosis occurs only in a cell.
