Question

Procedure

1. Take one cracker and chew it for 5 minutes. This is difficult to do without swallowing a lot of the sample. When the 5

minutes are up, spit the cracker paste into the first beaker (beaker A). Let this beaker sit until all the beakers are set up.

2.   Take one cracker and chew it for one minute. It should look like a lumpy paste. Spit it into a second beaker (beaker B).

Let this beaker sit until all the beakers are set up.

3. Take one cracker and crush it up and mix it with enough water to make a paste. Crush some more to try and get rid of

lumps. Put the paste into one of the beakers (beaker C).

4. Put one drop of iodine into beaker A and put two drops of iodine into beakers B and C. Stir them a little and observe thecolor. Beaker A will probably have about half the volume of cracker paste as the other two beakers which is why only one drop ofiodine is needed.
