Question

You are the parent of two young children, 4 year old twins. They have been playing outside and they come running inside asking for a drink. All of the drinking glasses in the house, except two, are dirty. One of these glasses is tall and narrow and the other is short and squat. You KNOW that your children will argue with each other if one thinks that the other child is getting more to drink. Based on your knowledge of preoperational children's cognitive skills and limitations, what should you do to avoid an argument? Explain your answer. Be sure to define the relavant terms as you introduce them..

Explanation / Answer

As per my understanding with my twins, I will say to my both children’s that who will get the glass which tall and narrow will also get their drink at once rather who will get glass which is short and squat will get drink twice. So you both will get equal drinks. After saying that, I will readily leave selection of glass on my children’s.
