Question
With the human genome project that is being conducted to map out every human gene, genetic prophecy may soon be the norm for us all. One example I can think of is that some women who have tested positive for the breast cancer gene have had preemptive mastectomies, even though they have not yet developed or may never develop breast cancer. If you had the chance to map your genetic make-up, would you want to know your future chances of getting certain diseases. Why or why not? Please make sure that your response is at least two paragraphs in length. In order to receive full credit for this post.
Explanation / Answer
Modern genome studies have given a greater scope of genetic analysis's of each genome and with the Human genome project most of human genes are easily analysed giving a chance for all of us to know genetic diseases and genetic variation if I would have chance of knowing my genome sequence and its functions I would definitely allow the genomes to be analyzed which will give a option to correct any genetic disorders and any diseases would be occurring in future can be avoided.
The present living conditions and lifestyle has imposed greater stress on human living which is causing more alterations in their gene and resulting in genetic disorders leading to mutations and cancers which are deleterious in nature and due to increase technology if we can able to map cancer genes and and any harmful disease can be avoided it will be beneficial for human survival.
