Question

Flow of lymph through the body. They want you to write the sequence for the following :
RIGHT FOOT
RIGHT ARM
INTESTINES ( WITH FAT)
they want it using little arrows
Such as ----> .... -------> .... ------>
For example : I'm not sure if this is correct which is why I'm asking for help .. I tried intestines with fat ...
Intestines with fat
Fats enter ---> lymphatic capillary ( lacteal)---> delivers fats to the lymphatic vessel---> (cisterna chyli) ---> drains into thoracic duct ???? What happens after thoracic ? ing the Flow of Lymph through the In this procedure you will trace the pathway of delivered to the cardiovascular system. You will trace the flow ducts, and highlight clusters of lymph nodes through which the will trace the pathway of lymph flow from the starting point to hee Body the major lymph passes as it travels lymphcollecri 1 Write the sequence of the flow. 2 Then use differently colored water-soluble markers to draw the pathway on a laminated outia of the fowe throgh nit to the point at which the lymph If no outline is available, use colored pencils and Figure 12 Trace the flow from the following locations: on a laminated outline of the human bo Start: Right foot Start: Right arm Start: Intestines (with fat) 12.6 Outline of hum anterior view CURE

Explanation / Answer

The lymphatic drainage of the lower limb closely follows venous limbs. It is divided into superficial lymphatics and deep lymphatics. Superficial vessels fall under two sub divisions. Medial superficial lymphatics follow great saphenous vein. It begins over the dorsum of the foot. It ascends along the medial side of leg, pass behind the medial condyle of femur and drain into sub inguinal group of superficial lymph nodes. Lateral superficial lymphatics follow small saphenous vein. They drain into popliteal nodes. Deep lymphatics of foot follow anterior tibial, posterior tibial and peroneal arteries and drain into popliteal lymph nodes. From all these nodes, lymph drains into deep inguinal lymph node and then into external iliac lymph nodes. From here, lymph goes to lumbar lymph nodes and then into cisterna chyli.

The lymphatics of right arm are divided into superficial and deep. The superficial lymphatics along basilic vein drains into cubital lymph nodes. Lymphatics along cephalic vein drain into apical axillary lymph nodes. The deep lymphatics follow ulnar, radial and brachial veins terminating in axillary lymph nodes. Deferens from these nodes join to form subclavian lymphatic trunk. In right side, subclavian lymphatic trunk continues to form right lymphatics duct which drains into right subclavian vein.

From intestines, fats enter lacteals which drain into lymphatic vessel. This drains into cisterna chyli which in turn drains into thoracic duct. Thoracic duct drains lymph into left brachio-cephalic vein.
