Question

The U.S. has about 319 million hectare (ha) or 788 million acres of rangeland, and about 60 percent of this is privately owned. Prairie dogs also use this land, but their activities can destroy the land's use and make it unusable for grazing livestock. Prairie dogs and the holes they build are environmentally important and create burrows for many other species of animals, among other things. Range owners, though, use the land to graze their livestock and feel that the prairie dogs threaten their livelihoods, careers, and means for supporting their families. Range owners use various methods of removal to save their land for grazing. What do you think? Who has more right to the land? Can land use be mitigated to serve all parties?

Explanation / Answer

Of course Owners has the right s on the land they buy .But they should not behave tough towards the Prairie dogs making living in the lands which are even helpful to the land because Prairie dog tunnel systems channel rainwater into the water table which prevents runoff and erosion, and can also change the composition of the soil in a region by reversing soil compaction that can be a result of cattle grazing.Though the range owner make their living not only by grazing animals they want to have other business on that lands .

The range owners should not think that Prairie dogs threaten their livelihoods, careers, and means for supporting their families because they are very helpful and they are not vicious and their existence in nature is very helpful and they improve the fertility of the land and so no need of bothering about the short Prairie dogs.
