Why is it advantageous for some farmers to obtain water from a groundwater source, rather than other sources? What are some of the disadvantages? What eects could groundwater harvesting have upon other water sources? Based on your answers, do you think that surface water or groundwater resources are better to use, and why? Why is it advantageous for some farmers to obtain water from a groundwater source, rather than other sources?

Because of the above advantages of ground water the yield of crop will be high.

What are some of the disadvantages?

What effects could groundwater harvesting have upon other water sources?

Groundwater harvesting stores water and the water can be used later .As a result the dependance on other water sources decreases to some extent.

So Groundwater harvesting helps to increase the water level in other water sources .

Based on your answers, do you think that surface water or groundwater resources are better to use, and why?

I think ground water is better to use as it is fresh and pollutant free and it needs no further treatment which is expensive.
