Can't figure out these question on eye on earth 9.1 pleaseee help This image shows West Cedar Mountain in southern Utah. The gray rocks are shale that originated as muddy river delta deposits. The sediments composing the orange sandstone were deposited by a river. Place the events related to the geologic history of this area in proper sequence. Explain your logic. Include the following: uplift, sandstone, erosion, and shale. What term is applied to the type of dates you established for this site?Explanation / Answer
1.Geological history:-The orange colured sandstone were 1st deposited by the river and then under suitable condition(under water ) the sandstone sediments cemented to form a sandstone rock.
.As per seasonal flow layers of sandstones were deposited .
.We have seen a unconformity in between the sandstone layes so we can say in past may be after the deposition of sandstone there was a gap of time .so at period of time the erosion ocurred their because of weathering of sandstone rocks.
.Not clearlly but the layer between sandstone and shale is little disturbed so that disturbance may be due to the external forces of earth and little unliftment .
.Then shale is deposited by the river at older stage of the river in the delta but due erosion a complete sequence of rocks are seen here.
2.As the layering of rocks happened here so we can call it a well laminated structure or as a good example of unconformity.
