Visit both the Website of Social Accountability International (www.sa -intl.org) and the Website of Transparency International www.transparency.org to learn more about the international business ethical standards and current status of countries in corruption. Then, describe your opinion on the ethical standards and behavior of the company in association with the criticisms which have been levied against MNCs in the past regarding their activities in less-developed countries.

Its statement is related to emissions scandal that rocked the world, Companies have moral responsibility to state the problems that arise by using their products,

Rather than complying to national and international regulations set to meet pollution targets companies have choosen to take a shortcut and install defeat devices which potentially show good results while testing the car for emissions, but in non-test conditions the car will be far more polluting,

The irony is that VW is not the only company that does this, Mitsubishi corp also has similar technology. We have to understand that national governments do lot of research before finalising on emission standards and those standards are for the common good of the people of the country and world, So companies must refrain from cheating on emissions.
