THIS IS A DISCUSSION. READ AND MAKE A BRIEF COMMENT ON THIS PERSONS POINT OF VIEW
With the increased globalization of business their are many new challenges in amnaging a global supply chain and to chose the most important challenge is a challenge within itself. Having and operating a global supply chain can be a difficult task. One has to make sure that this is the best choice for the company, and that the seller is the best for the price, quality, and country for the product. After doing much research I would say having the proper communication witht the sellers or other MNC's would be the most challemging thing. The important thing is the profit and the product. The percentage of error needs to be as small as possible so that the customers can recieve thier product in proper timing. The assembly line stops if even the smallest subcomponent is missing. This is why having the laws of exports and imports and pricing must be clearly communicated. As stated in the book it is a global supply chain and the mistakes have a high risk. The communication and postal services of the MNCs with one another are key in order to see the best reward for the coiin.
Explanation / Answer
Global supply is highly integrated with each and every part of the supply chain being a crucial part. The global chain is inter linked with other global suppliers and this makes quality , pricing and product information an important component. When sellers and buyers interact at global level there needs to full and symmetry in information to ensure best choices are made and best prices are quoted for the product.Timely delivery is another component of the supply chain , if the time is not managed well the chain can be inefficient.Storage of raw materials , point of origin, packaging and logistic are important component of the same. Thus if the link is faulty it directly impacts sale and profit of the seller. R&D facilities , cost factors , political and economic factors pose some of the limitations that can reduce pace of the supply management. Thus full integration is important to manage a smooth flow of global supply chain.
