Reflection statement: Provide a brief statement of your thoughts on the research project on overuse in healthcare (i.e., what are you the most proud of while completing the research, what were the biggest challenges, advantages and disadvantages,are their any disappointments?, what methods will you use to communicate your research results to your chosen audience?, what are your hopes for the future with your research project, etc.).

Please provide a reflection statement on OVERUSE OF HEALTHCARE.......two paragraphs will suffice, thank you!!!!

Explanation / Answer

Overuse in healthcare has been defined as “a health care service provided under circumstances in which its potential for harm exceeds the possible benefit. The initiatives to address overuse of medical services are important in reducing total health care spending and iatrogenic harms.

The biggest challenges to addressing this issue are the tough question of deciding whether healthcare treatments are overuse or not. Generally, the reason for healthcare overuse is the patient psyche that; "more care must be better."

The overuse of healthcare should be controlled as excess medications for example excess intake of antibiotics may place patients at risk for dangerous infections, like; Clostridium difficile colitis. CT scans put the patient at increased risk of cancer. Thus over the use of healthcare should be controlled at all costs. I will communicate the results of my research by writing an article in a journal.
