Question
When the Earth, Moon, and Sun form a right triangle with the Moon located at the right angle, as shown in the figure below, the Moon is approaching its third quarter. (The Earth is viewed here from above its north pole.) Find the magnitude and direction of the net force exerted on the Moon. Give the direction relative to the line connecting the Moon and the Sun.

you have to proivde the distance between sun and moon and earth and moon to calculate the force.
here I am using variables to denote all the distances. please put the values to get the value of the force.
as gravitational force is attractive in nature, force due to sun will be towards the sun.
if distance between sun and moon is Dsm, then force=Fsm=G*Ms*Mm/Dsm^2
where Ms=mass of the sun
Mm=mass of the moon
similarly, force due to earth will be towards earth, hence at 90 degree to force due to sun.
if distance between moon and earth is Dem , then force=Fem=G*Me*mm/Dem^2
where Me=mass of the earth
net force=sqrt(Fsm^2+Fem^2)
