2. Why is it socially or ethically acceptable to hunt certain species but not others? Where and why do we draw the line? What are the pros and cons of culling lions?

3. What are some methods that the Fish and Game Commission could use to moderate the cons?

4. What are the cons of bighorn sheep extinction? Humans hunt wild ungulates and rodents.

5. Why do voters have such a strong aversion to killing lions when hunting other mammals is morally or socially acceptable? Is this concern for charismatic megafauna actually counterproductive to environmental goals / biodiversity conservation? Briefly explain you answer.

Explanation / Answer

1)we have to preserve a particular species because of its value to the conservation of overall biodervisity. We live in a ecosystem which had heirarchy in its pyramid.Each animal has its own role in this so each and every animal has its role in ecosystem so to prevent biodiversity its important to preserve a particular species.

2)There is one important question always there that why people choose to hunt.Mainly there are three types of hunting: therapeutic, subsistence and sport.In Therapeutic hunting there is intentionally killing wild animals so that we can conserve another species or an ecosystem. In one example, Project Isabella, in 1997 and 2006 there were feral goats on galapagos island,they were overgrazing the islands and threatening the survival of endangered Galapagos tortoises and other species so conservation groups hired marksmen to eradicate thousands of feral goats.The other type is Subsistence hunting in which there is intentionally killing wild animals for to supply nourishment and resources for humans.There is an agreement which allow Native American tribes to hunt whales which at some part is justified by the value the animals have for the people who hunt them.Third one is sport hunting in which there is intentionally killing wild animals for enjoyment or fulfillment.This is totally unacceptable.So we have to draw line by making decision in regard for which hunting is done.Pros of killing lions we can consider under therapeutic hunting and cons we can consider under sports hunting or killing for benefit for human.

3)to moderate cons here are various methods-1)Educate family about endangered species in that area,2)Pressure civil servants-its not ethical to leave all on the scientific community alone to defend the natural world.There is someresponsibility of voters and consumers,voters and consumers must take a stand by means of singing petitions, writing letters and donating,3)Black out the Black Market,4)reduce Herbicides and pesticides se those are hazardous pollutants that affect wildlife.

4) Due to extinction of bighorn sheep we lose biodiversity. Biodiversity refers to the total number species as well as total number of ecosystems in the earth’s surface. It reflects that when animals extinct it also reduces the variety of animals that were present.There are different roles that are played by different types of animals. So when we lose any of these animals, it means we lose also its important thus this is the complication that animal extinction brings to our environment. Animal extinction is a threat to the human life because there are numerous things that the animals provide to the human beings that can not be counted.

5)voters have such aversion because lions are already endangered species and this gain lot of attraction to people.Killing any mammal is totally unacceptable as we already discuss about our ecosystem.yes,this is a big concern and we have to take necassary steps to prevent this.
