Question

If - The only forces acting on this system are internal, all energies are conservative, and the mass of Cart1 is greater than Cart2:

1.) After the spring is released, the relative speed of cart1 is (a.-greater than, b.-less than, or c.-equal to) the speed of cart2immediately after the spring loaded push rod has released all of its energy (and before the string becomes taught).

2.) Use a physics formulat or a physics principle (directly related to the problem in Part 1) to justify the answer to part 1. (part 1 is question 1)

Explanation / Answer

Here the speed of the both mass will be equal . Because the speed of

the both body are independent on mass.

And second thing there is no external forces. So the speed of body is totally independent of the mass of body.

So the speed of both mass will be equal.
