When visiting a friend in Columbus OH, this winter you noticed that the temperatures were consistently colder in Columbus than in your home town of Atlantic City, N.J. When you discussed this with your friend, she explained that Columbus is significantly further inland than Coastal Atlantic City,while they are still at the same latitude. There are various factors which are controlling the temperature.The main controlling factors are latitude, altitude, distance from sea , land breeze movements etc. So all these cumulative efforts trigger the temperature difference. So here in spite of having the same latitude Columbus is having colder temperature due to other factors like positions on land and distance from sea. As it is more farther part , so it feels more winter than atlantic.
