Question

I already know the answer is D. I need someone to explain HOW to arise to this answer.

I understand why A & B are equal since all 4 points are either going in or out. But how do you solve for the rest, and order them in the correct arrangement?

2. Shown below are six configurations of four current-carrying wires viewed "end on". Each circle with a dot represents current coming out of the page, and each circle with a cross represents current flowing into the page. Each wire carries the same amount of current. What is the order of net magnetic field magnitude (from largest to smallest) at the center of each square? D) E > D = F > A = B=C

Explanation / Answer

Current in same direction on opposite end of diagonal will cancel each others magnetic field at center. and if current is in opposit direction at digonal end magnetic field will add up.

so net field at center i A,B,C =0

E has highest because both diagonal end have opposit current so it is clear that option D) is correct
