Can you answer question 6 please

b). Compute the average linear velocity c). The water temperature was 14 °C and the mean pore diameter was 0.33 mm. Was it permissible to use Darcy's law under these circumstances? What is the reason for your answer? 6. (Fetter P148, 2, added c)) A fluid in an aquifer is 23.6 m above a reference datum, the fluid pressure is 4390 N/m2, and the flow velocity is 7.22 x 10* m/s. The fluid density is 1000 kg/m3. a) What is the total energy per unit mass? b) What is the total energy per unit weight? c) What is the hydraulic head?

Explanation / Answer

A. total energy per unit mass = (pressure/density) + v2/2 + gh .........(1)

B. total energy per unit weight = tatol energy/weight = eqution(1)/g

C. hydraulic head = mechanical energy per uni weight

putting values, pressure = 4390 , height =23.6, velocity=7.22*10-4 , density=1000. we get

total energy /mass = 240.39 joule/kg

total energy / weight = 24.04 joule/N

hydraulic head = 24.039 joule/N
