1) we can use Biot Savert law to determine the magnitude of magnetic field due to a current carrying wire and right hand thumb rule to determine the direction of field.

dB =(o/4)(idl/r²)

i is the current in th wire

dl is the length of small part of wire

r is the distance of the point where we want to calculate magnetic field from the small wire.

To determine the direction we set out right hand thumb in the direction of current flow and the direction of curled fingers shows the direction of magnetic field.
