I1 = 0

I2 = 0.5 A

I3 = 0.5 A

applying kirchoff voltage law to left loop

50 - 30 + I1*10 - I*20 = 0

50 - 30 + I1*10 - 30 = 0

I1 = 1 A

current in left branch = 1 A

current in right branch ( through R ) = 1 + 1.5 = 2.5 A

for right loop

50 - (2.5*R) - (1.5*20) = 0

R = 8 ohm
