Question
I'm in electricity and magnetism physics. I am having trouble understanding this problem. Can you please explain each step. And show how to check this problem. Thank you
Chapter 21 Problem: Variation of Assum incident energy. a) Make an order-of-magnitude estimate of the a ion of 21.68: The intensity of solar radiation at the top of Earth's atmosphere is 1370 W/m2 ethat 60% of the incoming solar energy reaches the Earth's surface and that you absorb 50% of the m. an order-of-magnitude estimate of the amount of solar energy you absorb in a 60-minute sunbath. Considering that we're 60% water, estimate the term reasonableness water, estimate the temperature change, and comment on its b)
Explanation / Answer
Given,
Intensity of radiation, I = 1370 W /m2
So, 60% of 1370 = 822 W/m2
And, 50% of 822 W/m2 = 411 W/m2
Intensity, I = power/area
Power, P = I x A = 411 x 1.7 x 0.3 = 209.61 W
Energy, E = power x time = 209.61 x 60 x 60
E = 377298 J
