Question

An electron is shot into a region of constant electric fieldshown in green (position is given in centimeters and timeis given in sec, 10-6 s). What arethe magnitude and direction of the electric field? (Animation canbe found at http://pages.towson.edu/jrsimpson/PhysletsCD/contents/electromagnetism/e_fields/default.html physeltproblem 23.6) I really don't have any clue where to start except that I knowI need the initial velocity. Please help cause I am reallyconfused about this problem. Explanation / Answer

its very simple if u imagine a ball thrown in horizontal direction,if it is a ball it will move in vertical direction due to gravity pull, in case of ball the horizontal motion is dueto horizontal velocity, but vertical displacement is due to gravitypull, the vertical displacement does not depend on horizontalvelocity here alsi similar case but,the gravity pull is replaced by E.F now the electron has downward motion because E.F is pullingit, always electron moves in the direction opposit to the E.F that means E.F is acting vertically upword F=E*e a=E*e/m but s=1/2 a*t^2 u know s -down wors displacement                                      t-time taken                                      e/m-constant i think now u can find E
